My Story

My experience as an educator and therapist began over thirty years ago. I took a summer job as a paraprofessional working in a special education class, and, as they say, the rest is history! I was inspired to become a Speech-Language Pathologist after witnessing the impact therapy had on students’ communication skills while at school and with their families. Communication, in all of its forms is essential to/for enhancing each individual’s lifestyle and attainment of goals.

I attended San Jose State University and received a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology. While providing therapy in the public school and private practice settings, I was inspired to enter a teaching credential program in which I earned a credential in Early Childhood Special
Education. I have worked in each field for over 20 years, many of which were spent providing instruction to individuals with autism.

My background providing services bilingually in English and Spanish, specializing in early intervention, and the Individual Education Plan process has been integral in my approach to providing therapeutic services. I focus on the individual needs of the clients while considering the integration of skills into various environments.

Working together with caregivers, families, and other service providers is key for crossover of communication skills. I am committed to providing the highest standard of services to my
clients and being part of their empowerment through communication.
